The Church of Almighty God (CAG) is a controversial religious group that emerged in China in the 1990s.
It is very active on the web, with thousands of accounts that appear to appear as Catholics or Protestants to approach the most inexperienced faithful.
Typical are the religious images in a naive style (similar to those of the publications of Jehovah’s Witnesses but more modern and very colorful).
In the facebook groups that they have monopolized, they put images with type writings on a daily basis
“If you want Jesus to bless your life, write Amen” to increase the visibility of the posts, and they respond personally to every single Amen, and sometimes with lure messages like “I sent you an important message privately”.
The Church of Almighty God believes that the Lord Jesus has returned as the Son of man and that he incarnated in China in the last days as a woman named Yang Xiangbin who is said to be the reincarnation of Christ.
Jesus for the CAG had failed to completely save humanity from sin and for this he would return.
Obviously the CAG does not believe in the Trinity and disseminates a third Testament that would complete the Bible which with minor differences is used by Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants.
It is millenarian because Christians who join Eastern Lightning (the woman/Jesus) will go to heaven in the impending Apocalypse.
One of the major problems of this group is the lack of transparency because it does not act explicitly and its cults are not easily accessible.
We advise you to be wary and stay away from The Church of Almighty God, it is not Catholic and cannot even be defined as a Protestant Christian (it does not believe most of the things Christians of all denominations believe in), immediately block requests for friendship on social media.
