Safety Tips for converts from Islam to Catholicism

From our experience we can give some safety advice for a person who comes from other religions to Catholicism or who lives in atheistic regimes.

1) DON’T TELL OTHERS THAT YOU HAVE BECOME A CHRISTIAN
Don’t talk about your conversion to Christianity, not even to your family or friends, until you live independently.
2) DO NOT LEAVE TRACKS
Do not leave traces on pc, smartphone, sms, books, diaries.
Delete history, beware of automatic backups even of phone or email, empty trash and folders of deleted posts / emails. Pay attention to images, holy cards and printed prayers.
3) DO NOT MAKE TOO VISIBLE CHANGES
Don’t suddenly change the way you dress or behave.
Changes that are too fast can create dangerous reactions in your family or social environment.
4) DO NOT BE SEEN WHEN YOU PRAY OR GO TO MASS
Always choose times when you are alone and if you go to church be very careful. If you can choose, go to an area/quarter where you are not known.
5) IF YOU CAN’T BE BAPTIZED NOW ….
God sees your heart and if there are great risks to your life or that of your family you must know that in case of risk of death you can receive baptism from any Christian, who baptizes you with water saying “I baptize you in the name of Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit “.
6) PAY ATTENTION TO TRANSLATORS AND CULTURAL MEDIATORS
If you are in a refugee camp, especially in Muslim countries, pay attention to translators (even from Western organizations), do not talk about your conversion if it is not necessary.
If you are in reception centers in Europe, beware of cultural mediators and translators and if you have to ask for political asylum because of your conversion, look for a Christian worker for help and verify that the translation is not changed to harm you
7) USE A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE
To ask for help if possible, use a different language than yours.
8) INTERNET and SATELLITE DISH
Learn to use proxies to surf more anonymously.
Or use the anonymous browsing mode of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, ect
Clear history and memorize (in your head) the addresses of the websites that interest you. Be careful not to turn off satellite channels on Christian channels. If you use social media, create unrecognizable secondary profiles but do not link them to a phone number.
