Finrrage support the proposed bill by the Italian Government

To Whom It May Concern
FINRRAGE (Australia) wholeheartedly supports the proposed bill by the Italian Government that will make going abroad for surrogacy a crime for Italian citizens and is punishable with heavy fines.
It will be important that Immigration Services enforce these fines. Similar laws in two Australian states (New South Wales and Queensland) and the ACT Territory are not enforced and so-called commissioning parents still return with babies from overseas countries and are allowed into Australia without having to pay any fines (or go to jail as stipulated in the legislation).
Surrogacy is a human rights violation and an exploitation of the birthmother, the egg ‘donor’ and the child who never asked to be a take-away baby. It violates the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child and needs to be abolished internationally.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Renate Klein
